Steps are involved
Step 1: Find an employer
You find an Italian company or employer willing to hire you under Decreto Flussi.
Step 2: Employer pre-fills the application
The employer enters your personal details, job information and required documents into the official online portal before the designated deadline.
Step 3: Employer submits the application
On the relevant official submission date, the employer submits it to request your work authorisation, called the nulla osta.
Step 4: Wait for approval
If the application is approved, you can proceed with the required visa process through the Italian consulate. Pre-filling alone does not guarantee approval.
What does this mean for you?
You do not need to pre-fill the application yourself if you are applying from abroad. Your prospective Italian employer normally handles that part.
